News about Clic
We are still working on the development of the JClic project. The first beta version of the application JClic player will be launched in the near future, with a lot of new features:
- Use of the Java™ WebStart technology, which facilitates the updating of new versions
and allows the use of applications without being connected to the Internet.
- Introduction of the Project libraries, a feature that will allow the automatic downloading and installation of JClic projects, the sharing of activities in a LAN and the organization of icons.
- Support of QuickTime™, to make JClic absolutely compatible with Mac OS X systems.
- New user reports engine, adaptable to different database systems. It will support the administration and query of the data from any web browser.
We are also working on:
- A new compilation of activities in a CD-ROM, which will be available on the first trimester of 2003.
- Rebuilding of the Clic's website, using dynamic contents and new search and participation services.
- Development of the JClic author module, that will allow to create and to modify the activities in a new visual, user-friendly interface.
New activity packages
In this section we will present new additions to "the Clic corner". For a detailed description of the activity packages, click on the titles.
- Family
Package of English activities developed by Olga Salazar, to learn about the vocabulary related to family relationships.
- Fátima
This package in English has been created by Maite Verdú. It's the story of Fatima, a girl from Morocco who has to leave her country and come to Barcelona.
- Colours and Let's play with the shapes
Two packages created by Sílvia Díez to learn the English language. The exercises are about the names of colours and the basic shapes: circle, square, triangle and rectangle.
- Unit 5: Kitty the Kangaroo
English activities by Francisco Esteve, based on the unit Kitty the Kangaroo from the book Minibus 1, of Heinemann Publishers.
- The human body
Activities by Beatriz Dávila about the English vocabulary related to the human body.
- Bingo matemàtic and Eurobingo
Two new activity packages made by Toni Miquel, with easy math games and exercises with euro coins and banknotes.
- Gimcana del conocimiento: Ciclo inicial, Ciclo medio and Ciclo superior
José Antonio Pérez has extended his cross-curricular project "Gimcana del coneixement" with six packages (more than 1300 activities!) in Catalan and Spanish, addressed to primary education.
- Vocabulario básico rumano and Vocabulario básico chino
Activities by Benedicto Lorente with basic Spanish/Rumanian and Spanish/Chinese vocabulary, on colours, seasons, transport, places, clothes and tableware.
- Retrato físico and Les temps du passe
Two activity packages produced in France by Corinne Vives, addressed to students of Spanish as a foreign language. They are about the vocabulary of the human body and the past tense of Spanish verbs.
- Las sílabas inversas
In this amusing package by Vicente J.Alfonso the pupils have to escape from a cave by answering questions put to them by an ogre, on the Spanish syllables asco, saco and caso.
- Ciclo celular en células somáticas
Yolanda Giraldo, from Colombia, has produced this package of activities about cell parts and mitosis.
- Química elemental
Activities created by Juan Carlos Ferreras to introduce the pupil into the world of chemistry: the atom, the elements and the periodic table, chemical bonds, etc.
- Vistas de la Tierra
Pedro Villar is the author of this interesting activity package based on satellite pictures of the Earth.
- Jugando aprendo
Kindergarten activities created in Chile by Verónica Cares: puzzles, orientation, memory games...
- Los números en mapudungun
The Mapudungun, or Araucanian, is the language of the Mapuche people. Verónica Cares has created this package of activities where we can learn the numbers from 1 to 10 in this language.
- Trabadas
A package designed by Manuel Verdugo, with activities on the Spanish syllables TR, DR, PR, PL, BR, BL, CR, CL, FR, FL, GR and GL.
- Gramática
Package of Spanish grammar exercises created by José Luís Marqués, based on texts from the Anaya Publishing House.
